1.) City of Jacksonville seeks artwork for juried exhibition, "Art in the Heart of Downtown"

In conjunction with the 2009 Jacksonville Jazz Festival, the City of Jacksonville is producing "Art in the Heart of Downtown," a juried art show and sale taking place May 22-24 that will feature the work of prize-winning artists and master craftspeople from around the country. The show is complimented by a distinct wine tasting experience and the sounds of jazz in a vibrant festival setting. 2.) Call for artists - Arthouse Gallery (Atlanta, GA)

Deadline: sign up by April 15, 2009

The Canvas Project Volume 2 -Your work at the world's busiest airport!

Sign up to receive 5 3''x3'' canvases and a list of 5 user generated words that you are to interpret onto each canvas. The goal of the exhibition is to create a visual encyclopedia using mini canvases and artists from all over the world. At least one of your canvases will be published in an Art House book and one will be on display at the worlds busiest airport, The Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

Take part in this project to not only help gain exposure for yourself, but also to push your creative ideas out. Everyone who signs up and sends back their work will be included in the book and the exhibition. We do not jury any of the work. Art House is all about community and you don't have to be a professional artist to participate in the exhibition. This project is about being creative and inspiring yourself and others. We want to bring artists together and give everyone a chance to show in galleries and other venues across the country!

3.) ATHICA Emerges III

The ATHICA Emerges program exhibition is the one exhibit we mount a year that is designed to serve local artists.

-All media are encouraged, as well as group proposals. We can accommodate large-scale sculpture and painting as well as installation. (Please see the OurSpace page for images of our space as well as a downloadable floorplan.)

-This is a great opportunity for emerging artists to gain experience and exposure as well as experience collaborating with curators.

-ATHICA will promote the exhibition and print an exhibition catalog as well as website representation.

- Artists will be responsible for the cost of their opening and closing receptions as well as the cost of their announcement card printing, which we will design.

This juried show is presented by the Arts Council of Henderson County. 6.) HOME: A National, Juried Exhibition of Origins, Places and Connections
Attleboro Arts Museum, Attleboro, Mass.

HOME can be defined as where one was born or has been for a long period, a place where one lives, a familiar environment or a community of individuals. Emotional connections to a sense of HOME can be joyfully positive or painfully negative. No matter the interpretation, the concept of HOME surfaces extremely personal views and messages. The Attleboro Arts Museum invites all artists to submit original work in all mediums and concepts that represent their personal expressions of HOME. This national juried exhibition will be on display in the museum’s Ottmar Gallery. Six cash prizes of $100 will be awarded.
