�re: Place Collaborative,� a Georgia College & State University student led initiative, invites entries for an exhibition, August 13 - 27, 2009, examining the relationship between location and its inhabitants. This exhibition seeks to advance dialogue about reconnecting with the environment through visual art that emphasizes humanity�s relationship to place. Artists whose works convey the process of reestablishing a sense of place through environmental restoration are strongly encouraged.
All entries will be considered by a panel of student jurors under the advisement of the Museum Curator. �re: Place� is in collaboration with environmental artist Mara Scrupe whose residency ignited this project.

Where I'm From at Gallery RFD - Deadline June 25, 2009:
(Swainsboro, GA) � Gallery RFD seeks submissions for its upcoming exhibition titled Where I�m From.Over the past two and a half years, Gallery RFD has had the pleasure of exhibiting artists and artwork from all over the globe, including over 300 cities, 40 states, and 20 countries. It is apparent that location influences an artist as much as anything, with subject and media being as diverse as the points of origin. This influx of geographical diversity begs the need to display visual representations of the places they are coming from. Gallery RFD seeks artwork for an exhibition titled Where I�'m From, which will feature compositions that are either inspired by, in response to, or a documentation of the place you call home. Awards will be given for Best of Show and Juror�s Choice.

We are at the threshold of a global water crisis. Because women play a central role in water provision and management, women must be central in planning for the future. Today, women from all geographies,cultures, and traditions are grappling with the questions and global water
challenges, working from a variety of vantage points and perspectives. These expressions are a critical component to international dialogues about access to water, and the need for creative solutions.
