Art and the human condition (looking and writing about artists in no way connected to the WCA of GA)

The Gentleman Womanizer

He will open the door for you, pull out the chair and help you carry the heavy stuff. But you can trust him to be promiscuous.

Igor Korsunskiy’s relationship with women and vice versa cannot be explained as straightforward which is a good thing because his struggle to understand women translate to canvas in brushstroke after brushstroke and give the viewer a lot to talk, gossip and argue about. It is not a pretty picture but shows the male ego transform and conquer the female ego.

Of Course being a woman of my time, I know that the struggle between artist and model is not limited to the age old male versus female struggle but it takes an enlightened, post modern person to realize that.

The female’s struggle with being perfect comes through too. The search for the perfect measurements are in most cases the female’s search for acceptance. There is also a sensitivity in his work that few artist’s can manage to convey.

The darkness within is visible too and one knows that much transference from the artist’s own struggle with acceptance and commitment get stamped onto his artwork.
Igor was born in 1976 in the city of Tashkent part of the former Soviet Union and came with his family to the United States in 1994. His family has strongly influenced his life as an artist since they are artistic and well versed in architecture and design. In 2003 Igor and his brother Alex started his Art and Design studio "Artifex".

If you want to see more of Korsunskiy’s work  go to his website  or find him on Facebook under Igor Korsunskiy.

Let's get to know our members - weekly

It is so Important to know other artists and connect with them. Where else would we get ideas and inspiration? Books and movies are great but the excitement of seeing other artists at work is priceless. So going alphabetically through all the Georgia WCA members is this weekly post's goal.
